MusicForPraise was conceived by Dave Douglas.  Dave has been in Christian music as an artist and worship leader for more than twenty years.  He recently accepted the position of Pastor of Worship Arts and the Dean of the First Redeemer Church Conservatory of Music and Fine Arts located in Cumming, Georgia.

Dave's newest project is entitled, "Grace Alone" and is a compilation of his favorite hymns and praise songs.  The ten songs on this CD are fully instrumental and created in the Music4Praise studios.  You can order this CD for $15.00, including tax and shipping.  Check out the CD on the Grace Alone Project page.

Dave took lessons from some of the finest keyboardists in the Detroit area.  One of his teachers had a command performance with the Queen of England.  Another teacher is considered one of the finest keyboard artists in the Christian realm.  Dave picked up their styles and developed his own "style" from a mixture of studied composers - from the Impressionists, Classicists, to Jazz and Blues.

Key influence in Dave's keyboard ability came from Clayton Erb.  Clayton has been the Minister of Music for Grace Community Church of Sun Valley, CA., for several years.

Dave was also privileged to be in the midst of some of the cutting edge Christian Contemporary artists of the 70's.  The "Spurrlows" were based out of his home church, and Dave sang tenor on their album project, "Spurrlows Now!" distributed by Word.  He was a founding member of the Zondervan recording group, "Renaissance", and started the "Dave Douglas Trio".

Since then, Dave has written, arranged and conducted  worship for four different churches over a fifteen year period as Minister of Worship.  Dave was the Director of Technical Ministries for Calvary Church of Grand Rapids, MI., and oversaw the tape ministry, sound systems, 32 track digital studio and the radio broadcasts for six years prior to moving to Florida.   Dave was the lead engineer for major productions Calvary hosted, including Festival of Lights (Christmas production with over 20,000 attending), all-church gatherings at the VanAndel Arena (attendance of 13,000 for Easter 1998), and was often used by recording studios and churches in his musical concert mode.

On a personal note, Dave has been married for more than thirty years and he and his wife have three great kids!  Life stays extremely busy and exciting!
